GAME WATCH PARTY EVENTS & UPCOMING VOLUNTEER EVENT

Dear Tampa Bay Tar Heels:

Due to general ongoing concerns about COVID, we have not been able to host many in-person events as we had planned over the last several monthsWe remain committed, however, to helping facilitate connections within our Tampa Bay Tar Heel community.

To allow for more connections between interested Club members, we are sharing two approaches to game watch parties. Additionally, we are also taking the opportunity to share information about an upcoming volunteer event we are organizing.

GAME WATCH PARTY EVENTS

The first approach is for the game watch party event to be Club sponsored.

  1. When an event is Club sponsored, Club leadership is involved and we send information to Club members via the email listserv (link to it here: http://alumni.unc.edu/cluboptin
  2. and post the event on our website and our Facebook page.
  3. This approach requires the General Alumni Association (GAA) to give our Club permission to host the event.
  4. A signed  waiver form will be required for each participant.
  5. For Club sponsored events, the GAA recommends the following:
    • Outdoor events with attendees practicing social distancing are preferred.
    • For indoor events, the GAA recommends that face coverings are worn when not eating or drinking.
    • In either case, it is recommended that attendees get vaccinated (proof of vaccination is not required to be provided).

The second approach is for any interested Club member to host a pop-up event without Club sponsorship by posting their planning on the Club Facebook page.

  1. In this case, information will not be endorsed by the Club and Co-Leaders will not send an email via the Club’s Listserv.
  2. To remain aware of what Club members are up to, join our Tampa Bay Carolina Club Facebook group.

VOLUNTEER EVENT

We are committed to creating occasional opportunities for our Tampa Bay Tar Heel community to give back locally, as we have in years past. We have scheduled a volunteer service opportunity at Feeding Tampa Bay’s Trinity Café on May 7, 2022. The event is limited to 10 people and spots can be reserved on a first come, first served basis. However, we will maintain a waiting list in case someone registers but cancels later. It is important that we fill all 10 spots as Feeding Tampa Bay is counting on us.

Volunteers will assume the role of restaurant “wait staff” including serving tables, bussing tables, hosting tables, and other restaurant tasks.  A handful of volunteers will be assigned to assist in the outdoor drive-thru distribution.

Trinity Café Volunteer Event Details:

  • Where: Trinity Café, 2801 N. Nebraska Ave., Tampa, FL, FL 33602

  • Maximum # of Participants: 10
  • How to register: Event Registration via Google Form
